Although my PC appears to be working its way through my current work unit, I haven`t seen a change in my total credit over the last couple of weeks (stats tab says 60 days, but the graphs always seem a bit odd). Only noticed something was peculiar when my average credit started to drop like a stone. This isn`t happening with other BOINC projects in progress, should I be concerned? |

Yes, I think that you should be concerned. You are using BOINC version 4.43. It may help to use 4.45, although it does have a bug which causes BOINC to stop after the 5 day bench mark. This bug may have been in 4.43. There is an unofficial fix for 4.45, if you do upgrade. Have a look at Windows task manager, and see if there are 2 hadsm, 1 boinc.exe, and 1 boincmgr.exe processes running. edit I looked at your previous models for the above. Just looked at your current model, and it has failed. And you are now using BOINC 4.19 I think we need more info. Is there anything in the messages about this failure? |

This is very odd. It has symptoms of a misallocated work unit. The resultid David\'s PC (12631) is working on (884726), is assigned to another PC (106829) which errored out immediately back in May. It looks like that PC is getting the credits for the trickles that David is accumulating on this WU. But it\'s strange in that the WU trickles started Aug 21st, and the experiment starts with a 4 (4130_100209914_0) so should be a sulphur (or maybe not). But going to the resultID page, the result errored out on the first PC back in May. This thread explains the problems with misallocated WUs. |

It\'s definitely a misallocated result. The problem is that David\'s system didn\'t start trickling until after Carl reassigned the results to the system that had reached the most advanced trickle point. I\'ll pass the details on to him. Thanks geophi and Thyme Lawn. I thought that there was something fishy, but I never even thought about the misallocation problem, probably because I thought it had been fixed and done with. It looks like it\'s going to cast a long shadow. |

OK, I updated the results record so within 12 hours the stats recalc should show up your credit. I suppose I could rerun that \"global\" correction (i.e. trickles are more reliable than the boinc result table), but I\'m loath to go through that again and risk messing up 100\'s of people who merged etc. |

Thank you everyone for your efforts and suggestions so far. Unfortunately, the problem persists. On the bright side the trickles are showing up on my account page so the work done appears to be getting back to climatepredictor.net which is the important bit, but my total credit is still unaltered. I`m running Boinc 4.45 (upgraded from 4.43 28th September 2005) and I do have 2 hadsm, 1 boinc.exe, and 1 boincmgr.exe processes running. 888888888888888888888888888 [/quote]CARL: OK, I updated the results record so within 12 hours the stats recalc should show up your credit. Hmm that\'s rather odd to see http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_user.php?userid=6465 showing 18998 but http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=12631 showing 22117 i.e. computer info showing more credits than user info does. I wonder if Carl changed something that is reflected in the computer info but neglected something else to get it into the user info. And the total credits for the owner of the host the result was originally assigned to doesn\'t include any of the credits (currently 3,119) that the result now has on David\'s host. "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

Sorry to be a pain but my problem persists. As crandles points out my pc is getting credit for the work done on it but that credit isn`t getting through to my account. I know its just numbers, and the important bit is that the work is being done but seeing average credit of zero when I know the machine is contributing is a little irksome. **************************************** Hmm that\'s rather odd to see |
