The official version is now 5.8.11. Not sure if it fixes all the things discussed here, but it does correct the Duration Correction Factor errors that happened with 5.8.8.

I\'ve used it for about a day (when it was beta) and have had no problems.

Perhaps it\'s the processor going into thermal shutdown.
Have you cleaned out the inside of the computer lately? All of the fans still working?

I cleaned inside PC and checked fans both working normally Cleaned Memory cards
Processor now at 47 degrees AMD throttled back to 90pc. Lost yesterdays programme on restart Got new download OK Every thing seems OK but CPU clock is
showing 2 hrs 42mins and secs. I think the minutes change normally but not the hours as it should be 6 hrs not 2. The time steps are normal about 2 secs each
on the graphics and it has done just over 0.109 per cent in the six hours.
I have just watched the elapsed time in the simple view and the hour did change to 3 at 59m 59s.

Boinc V5.8.15 now publically available from the usual download site.

I have a problem with BOINC 5.8.15. Climate prediction continues running at the same time of other projects. I\'m going back to 5.8.11 and see what happens. :-(

Going back to 5.8.11 didn\'t resolve the problem. Climateprediction still running at the same time of other projects. But with 5.8.8 it\'s stopping. I wonder what changed since 5.8.8 to make this happen.

P.S.: I now see that there is a new unstable release 5.8.16. When it\'s official I will try it and see what happens.

The same happened to me with Win 5.8.13 - although being preempted by other apps and back and forth, suspended and resumed again, it continued to run. Even after stopping Boinc... Probably only missing heartbeat convinced it to terminate some 1/2 minute later.

I have had the same with the later 4.xx series. The only workaround (though expensive) was to disable \'keep application in memory\' (a boinc setting on your account page). The downside for me was that HADCM doesn\'t write to disk all that often; this means that on average I had to redo half of the disk write interval (which I think worked out to ~10 minutes for me).
