Iansm 20,000,000 credits

As Iansm has pointed out to me, he's a "multiple personality" so actually has a lot more than 20,000,000 credits - they're all listed separately in the team BOINC stats, but they'll be added together in team Scotland's own stats. However, but I can't access those for the mo.

And our fearless leader, scottishwebcamslive.com, is heading for an even BIGGER milestone soon - fireworks will be in order for that one, methinks! ;-)

As predicted above, scottishwebcamslive.com (another Ian) has meantime shot past the astonishing milestone of 50,000,000 in BOINC overall!

Well done, IanB, fireworks as promised ;-)

In team Scotland's own stats, where Iansm's multiple personalities are integrated, it can now be seen that Iansm has passed 30,000,000 in BOINC overall - well done, Ian! ;-)

And team Scotland has now simply flown past the 150,000,000 mark in BOINC overall - 200m not looking all that far off! Plus we're rising quite fast up the BOINC overall team rankings (currently 145th), as well as more slowly, but steadily, up the CPDN team rankings - currently 23rd in total credits. Well done, all!

On a personal note, since my FAMOUS model crashed with an invalid theta error, I just took whatever model I was given (on the assumption that whatever was available was what the CPDN team want us to crunch at the mo). And I got a Slab model - so I'm suffering slight withdrawal symptoms, because it's so much slower, and I was kind of enjoying the FAMOUS model trickling almost hourly!

But the graphics are much clearer and easier to read (before anyone asks, I just peek at them from time to time because I remember being told that leaving them on uses up too much of the computer's resources). I see that this model is covering the period from 1810 to 2050!!!!!!!!!! And we thought the 160-year BBC models were long - still, this one is at least faster than those were. ;-)

Les and Mo have pointed out to me in the Oxford boards that "1810 to 2050" is an error in the slab model graphics - slab models are apparently only 45 years!

I've just checked the graphics of a completed HadSM and the dates are all correct there. 1810 - 1825, 1826 - 1840 and 2050 - 2065. You must be seeing incorrect dates in the graphics. Could you tell us the exact dates you've seen for each phase? I'm asking as I haven't got a slab at the moment.

I'm sure we reported this ages ago. Either it never got fixed or an original template has been used, reintroducing the error. If you can tell us exactly we can report this to Milo.

Hi Mo, it's still in phase 1 and the progress bar below "Phase 1 of 3" in the text box to the left of the globe shows the dates 1810 to 2050.

I've been carefully watching out for team Scotland to pass 50,000,000 credits in CPDN and failed to notice that we've passed

200,000,000 credits in BOINC overall! Well done, everyone!

Hey, while I wasn't paying attention (sorry, just a bit busy!) we've not only passed 50,000,000 credits in CPDN but also acquired a new team member - does anyone know who?

Am very much in hands-off mode these days myself, just letting projects run...and run...! But did spot David who joined on the 14th.

Many thanks, Ian! So a warm team Scotland welcome to David, sorry it has taken us a week to acknowledge you. Thank you for joining us, happy "crunching" and we hope to meet you sometime in one or other of the forums. Please don't hesitate to shout if you run into any difficulties in running the project.

Meantime, I think we've acquired yet another new member in the last couple of days, and I can't decide who that is either?

Latest new member is Gerry and another today - pinky1 !

Our team leader must be on a recruitment drive. Three in the last few days. :)

We also had this David who joined in August.

Wonder if he is the same David starting all over again as the first attempt never got going?

It could be the weatherathome launch. A new version of the Windows HADAM3P regional application has been released with new input data; the regional applications for Mac and Linux have been withdrawn. The regions are the same: Europe, Southern Africa and Pacific North-West (renamed Western US).

People registering through the weatherathome page will join climateprediction.net and be given a regional model to run. Existing climateprediction.net users will be automatically running the new weatherathome models if their preferences already include the regional models.

Gerry has a regional model and a HADCM3 geoengineering model; pinky1 has two regional models. In any case, welcome to the both of them!

A warm team Scotland welcome to Gerry and pinky1 then! Thanks for joining the team, happy crunching and we hope to "meet" you at some point in one of the climate forums or the Scottish forum.

Iain, thanks for weatherathome info - there's more about it here. Since it seems these Hadam3p models have a high memory requirement and you probably don't want to run two at once, perhaps it's worth reminding people that, once you've downloaded a model, you can click on "no new tasks" in the "Projects" tab of BOINC manager, to prevent your computer from trying to download more models until the current one is finished.

And congrats to our team leader, scottishwebcamslive.com, who has now acquired the astonishing total of 100,000,000 credits in BOINC overall - well done IanB!

Think we have another new member, who presumably joined Saturday, but I can't work out who it is?
