I am amazed to find that the web display of computer results has dropped the names without consideration for users tracking their work. I have over *three years* of daily performance in a spreadsheet, organized by system name. Now I\'m Screwed! Please return the *option* to list by name instead of number, which I cannot match to my current systems, since some are duplicate configurations. Gadzooks guys, let\'s not drop useful stuff! BillN |

I remember the results page being changed a couple of times \'way back\', but I can\'t remember what it looked like before. Perhaps this \"name\" that you want is what you now see by positioning the mouse pointer over the Task ID number for a couple of seconds? |

It sounds as if you\'re more worried about seeing the host names (domain names) for your computers. They still show for me in http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/hosts_user.php, provided I\'m logged in to this website. Maybe the layout change has confused things for you? Edit - the code change that led to the new display format dates back to 25 Apr 2008, though I don\'t remember when it was copied across to this main CPDN website. |

It sounds as if you\'re more worried about seeing the host names (domain names) for your computers. They still show for me in http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/hosts_user.php, provided I\'m logged in to this website. ... ... and if you delete the browsing history in Internet Explorer you\'ll find yourself logged out. I have sometimes found that the \'Your computers\' page does not always show the host names even after logging back in, but that going to the page via the \'Computers on this account\' link on the \'Your account\' page restores things to normal. [Since becoming a moderator and regularly following links in user profiles, I\'ve had some truly revolting stuff appear on my computer. I\'ve therefore installed a utility that clears the cache every time the computer restarts (which isn\'t very often, as it crunches 24/7). The result of this is being logged out of all the BOINC message boards repeatedly.] |
