Are we approaching the end of the Hadsm3’s? For the past few weeks I have been seeing the number ’sm3’s listed in the “results ready to send†going down and down. Each day there are fewer. It now stands at 11,051. This is the lowest I have ever seen it. Are the Scientists phasing out this type of model in favor of new types (the Millennium Model, rumored to emerge from beta testing in April), or will they refill the hopper with more Hadsm3’s? |

They\'ll refill the bin as soon as they are notified. Plenty there for the moment. :) PS I\'d like to start a new rumour about the Millennium model: They\'ll be ready by Christmas. Not sure which one. :) Backups: Here |

It looks like there are a lot of machines out there grabbing datasets at the moment. I sent a message about the low work pool, but no more are going to be made available until Monday UK time, after a meeting with the physicists. I just sent an update on this to the project. Backups: Here |

This is a bit absurd this day has been coming for more than a week I myself warned of these work units running out when we were down to 4 days worth of the last kind available for download I just hope the people who cant get models after they run out ( probably as I\'m posting this ) dont go wondering onto other projects to see what else is out their and forget to come back ! This is a bit absurd this day has been coming for more than a week We thought that we could last just a little longer... Anyway, I have sent out some more HadSM3 and HadAM3P. We had quite a few HadAM3P workunits fail and these are a generous re-transition of those. |

I suspect that a lot of this was caused by model wasters - computers that aren\'t working correctly, and just sit there downloading/crashing, downloading/crashing, downloading/crashing, etc. There\'s a LOT of \"set-and-forget\" users around with large collections of computers, who don\'t seem to ever look at what they\'re doing. There\'s a thread to report them just below this one. Then they can be cut off until the problem is fixed. Thanks for the refill Milo. Backups: Here |
