Does anyone know if its safe to exit Boinc and power down the computer with pending trickle up messages? Since the project upload and feeder server appears to be down, I can't trickle up anything. I've never been able to figure out when its safe to close Boinc down with project timeouts and workunit reporting.

Thank you

I do it fairly regularly without problems. I always make sure network activity is suspended and then scan each active task and make sure it is well away from the previous Savepoint. I then suspend climateprediction.net under the Projects tab. I wait 5 seconds or so before Exiting BOINC under the File tab. Seems to work for me. Next time, just start BOINC rolling and remember to un-suspend climateprediction.net under the Projects tab and you're off.

Thanks very much for the quick reply. I have to shut the computer down for a few hours and didn't want any work to disappear into the ether.
