Well at least it's very early Monday. At least where I am.

I'll send an email, but it's possible that "they" started some scripts and then went home.

I have "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" checked in my climateprediction.net specific preferences and I downloaded 4 tasks. Maybe check that option in your preferences.

You definitely need to be accepting work from other applications for now because the new work is running short application name "wah2_ri" instead of "wah2". They both have the long application name "WAH2 (Weather At Home 2)" which only appears once in the list of selectable applications. Selecting that only allows work to be fetched for "wah2" (which doesn't have any work available).

I just received two WU, and I don't have "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" checked. Either they rectified something, or there is a mix of applications.

I have now received the "No work is available for Weather At Home 2 (wah2)" four times (twice on each of two machines) today. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of accepting work from all projects on these machines, since BOINC is installed as a service, and certain of the other projects will fail, sometimes immediately, but sometimes after several hours.

So I am out of luck on those machines until they get it fixed.

If by "projects" you mean other cpdn applications, then there AREN'T any others, so you CAN follow the advice here.

You can also, if you wish, untick that option once you get enough work on those 2 computers.

And you can set the 2 sets of computers to use 2 different "Venues", and then tick/untick the option for just that one.

Yes, I mean "other CPDN applications". But no, when I allowed the HadCM3 shorts to run on purpose this morning to test the BOINC service account settings, I got four of them. So there must still be some resends out there, maybe on the other applications too. (Unfortunately the new service account setting did not work; they still failed, by restarting every 8 seconds or so.)

And Yes, I use multiple venues, which is how I distinguish between the "service" and "non-service" machines.

I also run NOINC as a Windows service. I've always accepted work from non-selected applications and haven't been sent any HadCM3S tasks since 27th August despite being starved of work from the project for much of that time. The server status page says there are currently 10,513 unsent WAH2 tasks, so it's extremely unlikely that you'll be sent the occasional HadCM3S resend rather than one of the WAH2 ones. Given the odds Les's suggestion of temporarily enabling the work from other applications option seems reasonable to me.

There is a better solution. I have BOINC installed as a non-service on one machine, and I will just use that one. It avoids the possibility of spending hours on an application that will ultimately fail, as might happen on the service install machines (I have seen occasional resends on other applications too, they just don't show up in the server statistics.)

Desty

As you have your computers hidden, I'll make a wild guess: the ones that you got are re-sends.
You can tell by the right hand digit in the model name. Also, the creation date is listed on both the model's page, and in the Work Unit page.

Both WU were generated today at "29 Nov 2015 17:01:xx UTC", model name "wah2_eu25_k4...". More than one batch?

PS: I'm running a new wah2 application 7.08. Now I see there are two "Weather At Home 2 (wah2)" listed in the application page with different version numbers. If they are different maybe they should have differentiated them...

Could be. There were several areas being tested. Plus could be some from previous areas, now that the server is back up.

Current number available dropping fast.
Now 8,924.

Dropping fast is one thing, but now they are gone entirely. Someone must have pulled the plug, maybe to change the names? Hopefully, like Arnie, they will be back.

I'm starting a new thread, as this is going to get way off topic for this one.
Please continue with posts there, including any of the asked for info.

The application "WAH2 Region Independent (Weather At Home 2)" has now been added to the project preferences page.
