#852 3150 tasks HadAM4 N216 (The ones that need plenty of level3 cache. These will checkpoint a bit more often than #842 did meaning if BOINC is exited for any reason, your tasks don't start again from the beginning if less than about ten to twelve hours on a slow computer. (Like the one I am typing on.)

My N144s that worked were all 809. the one 808 I got crashed.
All my N216s were 8.53; the first one was from 17 Oct 2019, 6:34:33 UTC
that completed 9 Nov 2019, 14:18:39 UTC that shows how slow (or fast) my 1.8 GHz Xeon processor it.

They certainly checkpoint more frequently than the, send trickles. The most recent checkpoint was about an hour ago, but that does not prove much.

Thank you. After a while, I got all twelve. Caught me napping because even in winter I cannot crunch all twelve simultaneously. Heats up.
Any idea if there are Windows tasks to be released? After eight years, I was surprised at how fast they went.
I seem to be missing Mo.V?
Regards.

To get less tasks, set the percentage of processors to a lower value. 50% will give you half as many.
This option is on your Account page at the project.

The projected release time for ALL work is "in the future".

Mo. V isn't active on these boards these days.

For those Windows users waiting for a WU, like myself, a short giggle just to make you smile. Has nothing to do with not having enough work for the available Win systems,,, BUT....

If you look at the Application page the versions of Window OS's supported by the various application has never been updated to include Windows 10.

Example
Weather At Home 2 (wah2)
Platform Version Created Average computing
Microsoft Windows (2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8) 8.24 3 Nov 2016, 14:42:42 UTC 10,943 GigaFLOPS

8,000 Pacific North-West fire-related simulations at 25 km have just been added - and another 10,400 in batch #855 (batch list).

[Edit: Batch #855 now increased to 10400.]

This project does not seem to have a lack of CPU processing power though :) .. Thats a good thing for the project :) .. If you keep trying you will eventually get work. If no new WU is released you will probably get an old one wich has timed out :)

So when we see a note about new models, such as this one, where do the less-than-cognescenti look to see whether it's a Linux batch or a Windows batch?

First on the Server Status page, to find the Application type, (left hand column),
and then the Applications page, to see which OS that's for.

And for Windows models, you get about 1 hour from the time they start getting released to grab some, before the thousands of other computers do.
