Version 7.9.1 for Windows and Mac OS is now listed as a developmental version on the main BOINC client download site. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php

I thought the next developmental release of BOINC for Windows and Mac was going to be Version 7.10.x. But I see Version 7.9.1 now on the main BOINC download site and there are comments on the BOINC site that 7.9.2 is close to release for "official testing" and not to start testing of 7.9.1.

I'm definitely confused. I'll post clarification and a change log as soon as I can get the information.

7.x where the X is an odd number are dev/beta releases, evens are official releases.

7.9.2 is now on the link you posted. (Just downloaded it for my box running wine.)

BOINC Version 7.9.3 will be released for continued testing/development soon....

Richard Haselgrove (BOINC Client Release Manager) stated today in a BOINC Project Call, that there are two remaining bugs yet to be resolved on the 7.9.3 development client test cycle.

Richard had no time-frame yet for the release of the next client production release (BOINC Version 7.10.x) or if another round of release 7.9.x development testing is planned.

Touch wood, the bugs in the latest development version have not affected my boxes as far as I can tell yet.

BOINC 7.10.2 is now available for testing for Windows, Linux and Macintosh.

Yes, that is correct, Bill F. 7.12.0 is a "development" release for Beta Testing only at this point. Versions 7.10.2 (for Windows and Linux) and 7.10.3 for Mac OS are the current "recommended" releases.

There is a new development version for Windows ==> Version 7.12.1.

This version fixes some problems with auto-attaching to projects. Once this last set of issues completes beta testing, it is likely that Version 7.12.1 will be made the recommended version.

Interested to see this in the log on startup. Don't remember seeing it on previous versions but it may well have been there and not been noticed.

don't use wsl

Believe there is an attempt to provide a switch option for Windows to use or don't use WSL. Not sure it's working properly.

Have just checked ccconfig.xml and all options use dont rather than don't so clearly that isn't the issue. I haven't done any manual messing about with the file so it is something generated by BOINC. as opposed to anything I may have introduced inadvertently.
