I have 5 tasks that are being downloaded. There are 5 files that are pending download as part of those tasks that are just sitting and will not download. This is the second time this has happened, I aborted them once and now am getting the same problem.

Are they all part of the same batch or are they from different batches?

Batch number highlighted. Knowing this makes it easier for the problem to be tracked down. -Most common reason for the problem is BOINC being told to look for the file in the wrong place or it being missing from the server for some reason.

I have the same problem, the executable and 4 zip files ("wah2*_intelx86.zip") just won't download. I've tried aborting them, and resetting the project. Then requesting new work - the rest of the files download ok, but then it stops again on these five files.

I have recently upgraded the BOINC client from 7.6.22 to 7.6.33 to see if that would fix the problem. It didn't.

The problem PC is running Windows 10 Enterprise (64-bit).

Annoyingly, another PC (Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit) that I have is able to download them!

The task is: wah2_eas50_g0kl_201312_10_506_010866662_0
Executable: wah2_8.24_windows_intelx86.exe

Are the ones that have downloaded successfully also from batch 506?

Will email project.

They will never download: This is your bottleneck: BOINC version 6.8.44. Version 7.(whatever) is required to get those files.

That is the issue which dragged me "kicking and screaming" away from boinc v.6. (There is no going back to boinc v6.[whatever]-- control file structures are incompatible.)

EDIT:
Please abort all 25 waiting files. That way, download failures will be signaled to the server and the tasks can be resent -- without waiting until deadline arrives, nearly a year away,

I have 5 tasks from batch 506 that downloaded OK to 3 computers, and are all happily crunching away.
It may be something about your computer that's the problem.
You may have to set some log options in cc_config.xml to find out what's wrong.

This is according to project people now resolved and things should work normally.

otter549 You still need to upgrade BOINC on two of your computers to 7.x

The fix doesn't make versions 6.x.x magically work again.

I updated to 7.x and that did the trick. Thanks for all the replies and help.
