And I think that the news at present is bad.

Oxford Terms:
Michaelmas 2018: Sunday 7 October - Saturday 1 December

Which probably means that Andy is currently on "General Duties" where ever needed in the uni.

It's going to be a long month.
SIGH.

Does he have to spend the month before the term starts getting ready ?

Of course the credits would have to show up just after I post about this.

Now awaiting the clamour from those who think they should have more.

Hurray!!!! For one, I'm quite happy with my credit totals. I have no idea what the precise number should be, but just glad that some lost credits have been restored. Assume these will flow to BOINC Statistics shortly...

There should be more. I posted a link of a task returned for zero credit. Most of us pay out of pocket to support projects. At least provide some arbitrary credit that says volunteers helped.

Unless I have misunderstood, a correction factor has been applied for lost work based on RAC before the crash. Depending on activity at the time, some will gain slightly and some lose. (Again assuming I have understood.) Also, recently completed work units since the trickles stopped showing on the website are probably not included in today's calculation.I don't know whether the credit system is now considered fully fixed or is still work in progress so it is probably worth waiting a few days/couple of weeks before judging.

Edit: I have for tasks which have completed between one and 5 trickles. All are showing credit just for the first one. So a fast machine may well have completed tasks which are not showing any credit yet.

Whoo, some credits showed up in BAM today, about equal to the negative credit hit I took from the project a few of months back and doesn't appear to account for work since the system came back online so if my math is anywhere near correct I'm probably down between 100k & 200k credits but on the bright side even if we're not out of the woods yet at least the trees are thinning out.

Thanks for all the hard work.

Don't know if this expected, an artifact of the cleanup, or a bug in the recovery process but I notice I have 18 completed tasks, all in March this year with run times ranging from 300k 1,275k seconds and no credits.

I also noticed I have a task from 2013 that showing as "in progress" which isn't.

Not complaining, just wanted to bring this to folks attention just in case it's indicative of a bug in the recovery operation.

I think that what was planned was, first find a solid base from before the crash, and then rebuild on it.

I don't know where it's up to at the moment, which may become outdated the moment I post, but my computer list now has credits against each one, the 2 figures on my Accounts page have increased, and my listing in the top_users has jumped.

Oh, and the graph in each computers Statistics page now has a hill at the end that's going to take climbing gear to get up. :)

Still nothing in BOINCstats though.

Yes, the march / April stuff may be a problem, as there was no "real" server to return data to around about that time.

Which is why I kept posting that people shouldn't try and get new work, or return old results.

Still, I don't think that recovery is over yet.

I think that I got all or a least most of my missing credits back. I knew that I had somewhere in the neighborhood of 16 and a half million and the statistics tab shows 16.6 million.

As for me.
I had 1st of april 15 925 493 credits. After the crash and loss of credits there where 13 901 717 until yesterday and now 16 743 902. That seems to be OK.
best regards

Those are the results I mentioned being lost but it was discarded saying results get transferred old elsewhere. But with the server up and down they prob couldn't be saved elsewhere.

I had returned some work during that time. Besides using a hosts file to inhibit access to just this site there wouldn't be a way to stop uploads from happening while still running another BOINC project. And once the site came back up the restored db probably had no record of users having said tasks anyway. They would have uploaded and been thrown away.

Similar thing just happened to Cosmology and any work in queue was dismissed when the server came back. Here it at least shows some record.

The problem back in March turns out to be missing trickles.
So, no trickles, no credit.

It wasn't until I looked at the model that you mentioned, that I found out about this. And then I found that you had 13 all told.

And others have something similar.

So it's another not-quickly-solved-problem for when the next uni term starts, and staff are back at normal levels.
