I sometimes look at the other computers that have tried to do one of the work units assigned to me. Here is an example. My RHEL8 machine almost always completes them successfully. Here is an example of one of them. I have not finished this one yet, but I expect I will. I am so sorry so many earlier attempts failed. 22016271 1511241 8 Feb 2021, 15:54:57 UTC 21 Jan 2022, 21:14:57 UTC In progress --- --- 6,897.54 UK Met Office HadAM4 at N216 resolution v8.52 i686-pc-linux-gnu 21917025 1498688 23 Feb 2020, 18:32:07 UTC 23 Feb 2020, 20:34:14 UTC Error while computing 0.00 0.00 --- UK Met Office HadAM4 at N216 resolution v8.52 i686-pc-linux-gnu 21763665 1489844 28 Oct 2019, 23:20:34 UTC 6 Feb 2020, 0:03:11 UTC Aborted 0.00 0.00 --- UK Met Office HadAM4 at N216 resolution v8.52 i686-pc-linux-gnu 21912510 1466866 23 Feb 2020, 16:34:20 UTC 23 Feb 2020, 17:40:11 UTC Error while computing 0.00 0.00 --- UK Met Office HadAM4 at N216 resolution v8.52 i686-pc-linux-gnu 21917063 1493466 23 Feb 2020, 21:16:10 UTC 5 Feb 2021, 2:36:10 UTC Timed out - no response |

Andy is looking at writing a script to automate blocking computers that don't have the 32bit libraries from getting more tasks. That would have stopped two of the failures on the one in the last chance saloon. But getting one user where it timed out and another who aborted it is bad luck I agree. I recently completed one from #842, the batch before that one. I know that writing the script has to sit below other higher priority work but I can't help hoping it happens soon. Please do not private message myself or other moderators for help. This limits the number of people who are able to help and deprives others who may benefit from the answer. |
