Recently, I have become even more interested in these topics and would like to extend my knowledge beyond my current level by reading up on the most current research. Thus, I would love to hear from all of you what nonfiction books and/or contemporary research papers you can recommend for reading!

Thanks in advance :)

There is Bill Gates recent book: How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need, but be warned it is depressing. It lays out in detail the many and diverse obstacles to moving away from carbon containing fuels. I came away feeling that the transition was not going to be hard as Mr. Gates states, but nearly impossible.

Very interesting! I'll add it to my reading list as well as a mental note to not read it before bedtime. I guess all relevant books and research in recent years will paint a gloomy picture but will offer valuable insights albeit mostly disconcerting ones. Thanks for sharing your book recommendation :)
