I'm not sure. Something seems to have corrupted so that it would reboot a few seconds into the boot process. I could not connect long enough to stop the boot and try to investigate. Otherwise, I had been running fairly well for over a year. Anyway, I detached the project and waited 24+ hours and the tasks still showed as In Progress. It wasn't until after I re-attached the project (just now) that the old jobs were Abandoned. |

I think I also may have lost a WU from the new batch of Had2’s. I am running Win11 8 core (4 phyical, 4 hyper-theded) 2.4 GHz with 12 Gb of Ram. Last night when I last checked I had eight running and 1 “waiting to start.” This morning all are running and the “waiting to start” one was gone. |

I'm glad it worked. I was writing those steps from memory and haven't done anything like that in a long time. I thought that detaching from the project would be enough to mark the tasks as abandoned but I guess not. Looks like you got a few of the new Windows tasks as replacements. Those went fast, I only got 2. I needed to change some settings to get more but they were gone by the time I saw that a new batch of tasks was released. |

JIM, are you sure that the "waiting to start" task wasn't #8? It says on the site that you were only assigned 8 wah2 tasks (new Windows tasks), not 9. Check your Event Log to see how many you got and downloaded. Usually, a lost or ghost task will show up on the website as assigned to you but you won't have it in the BOINC manager or it will disappear from there. Tasks can be "Ready to start" or "Waiting to run" (BOINC pauses the task after it started running) because of resource availability issues. They'll start or resume running once the resources are available again. |

I upgraded my eighth Gen to Windows 11 and promptly the computer crashed losing 36 tasks. They are in limbo now. |

KAMasud - If by "in limbo", you mean the tasks are no longer shown on your computer but the CPDN website shows them on your computer, then - 1) Go to the Projects tab, select climateprediction.net, then click on Remove. 2) Wait 30 seconds, Select the Tools tab, Add the project back in. This won't get your tasks back, but it should give someone else a shot at them. |

I got the Blue Screen of death. Now I have reinstalled the OS and Boinc but everything is different. If I detach and reattach, I do not think it will change anything, or will it? Confused over the issue. |

KAMasud - This probably won't solve your problem, but you might want to merge your computers. Do you really have 27 different computers that have contacted the CPDN website in the last 30 days? Blue screen of death sounds like a non-CPDN issue. Go to your Homepage on the CPDN website. Click on Computers on this account. At the bottom there is a "Merge by name" feature. After this you might try the "Remove project/Add Project" again |

KAMasud - I would love to merge my computers and did give it a try. Something has changed. It merges by name and all the names are different, computer generated. So, life goes on. |
