1) Message boards : Cafe CPDN : WCG African Rainfall Project (ARP) restart update Apr 25, 2024
Message 71871 Posted 17 days ago by Alan K |
I've had similar problems with stuck uploads on WCG ARP results. Have also set to no new asks and doing manual retries for the transfers. Will give up when they have cleared. |

Just picked up some resends from these three batches and also batches 1024-1027, 19 in total. Some were aborted but lots were timed out on the original machines. Are the results still needed? |

4 core CPU, 32Gb RAM and 2Tb hdd on a machine that is only used for CPDN - I see no real problem for me. |
4) Message boards : Number crunching : Batch 995 has been closed
Message 71564 Posted 7 Oct 2024 by Alan K |
"If anyone does have any tasks for 995 on the machine they should abort it." Done for the four I got. |

I got four resends from batch 1005 yesterday. They were all from the same computer and had failed at the same clock time but at different stages in the task. |

You're lucky wioth the hip replacement. My wifr had hers done last year and good old NHS - no physio, had to pay for it. I' due one later this year. Apologies fro going of topic. Waiting for more tasks! |

My guess is that it really depends on how many cores your processor has and therefore how many tasks it can run at any one time. I am not sure that having differeent speed memory chips makes much difference to perforamnce. |

You could try setting "use computer time" to 100% for both when in use and not in use to reduce the number of suspends |

Have got 7 of the EAS25 batch. 4 going OK - other 3 not yet started. For info - i7-4790K 4.00GHz CPU, 24Gb RAM, Gigabyte m/b as this is quite old, W10 O/S. Eight 1002 and two 1001 (picked up an extra 2, not repeats) |
