tried to update CPDN, but always get the message: climateprediction.net - Master file fetch failed. I'm a layman, can't understand the meaning, don't know what to do. Anyone there with help or explanation? |

it hits our "home page" to get the BOINC scheduler server name, but for some reason you aren't getting it. It's possible the URL was typed in wrong or had some whitespace; perhaps a proxy server issue? |

I had a look to the "account_climateprediction.net.xml", which is: "http://climateprediction.net/" and for me it seems to be o.k. So updating was possible without problems till yesterday. The problem is the same on my machine at home and in my office. More ideas? |

you could try the direct link i.e.: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc |

The file shouldn't be protected since you can run BOINC (even assuming under NTFS) and write to the directory. Just exit BOINC, open the XML file in Notepad and change the URL, save and exit. Restart BOINC. Try this method first to see if you can manually update CPDN. Use detach/reattach as last resort. |
