Getting the error 5 messages for Seti@home and Climate prediction. I have pinned it down to the fact I am using a Dual Monitor Rig, is there any cure yet for this? I don\'t want to keep disabling monitors if I want to run BOINC. Using latest 4.09 BOINC, Win 2K SP 4, Athlon 1.4 with 1.3Gb of RAM. This issue is resulting in corrupted data files and premature uploads. Is there a way to disable the gfx element of BOINC to see if that bypasses the problem till it\'s sorted? The original Seti@Home client had no problems with dual monitors. Snippet from the Error Log: 2004-10-07 22:26:56 [SETI@home] Unrecoverable error for result 14mr04aa.17223.8960.122158.33_1 (WU download error: couldn\'t get input files: 14mr04aa.17223.8960.122158.33: MD5 computation error ) 2004-10-07 22:26:56 [SETI@home] Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds 2004-10-07 22:28:01 [SETI@home] No work from project 2004-10-07 22:28:01 [SETI@home] Deferring communication with project for 10 minutes and 0 seconds 2004-10-07 23:15:43 [climateprediction.net] Message from server: No work available (daily quota exceeded) 2004-10-07 23:15:43 [climateprediction.net] No work from project 2004-10-07 23:15:43 [climateprediction.net] Deferring communication with project for 1 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds 2004-10-08 00:15:49 [climateprediction.net] Message from server: No work available (daily quota exceeded) 2004-10-08 00:15:49 [climateprediction.net] No work from project 2004-10-08 00:15:49 [climateprediction.net] Deferring communication with project for 1 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds 2004-10-08 08:13:36 [climateprediction.net] Unrecoverable error for result 31a9_000163061_3 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)) 2004-10-08 08:13:36 [climateprediction.net] Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds |

This seems to be a long standing issue with BOINC. I run dual monitors as well and have learned that I NEVER EVER try to look at the graphics. BONIC can rip the heart out of my system and require a hard reset to regain sanity. Any BOINC programmers out there willing to tackle this dual monitor issue? |
