I downloaded Boinc 4.13 (cause of problems with SETI with earlier version) and everything was fine until CPDN started downloading hadsm3_4.04.
As you can see:

Now i m interested what is this all about... I have around 30 hours of computing left for my curent CPDN wu, and of course i made back up of entire directory before upgrading to 4.13... Oh yes, i forgot to mention that in my Work tab there are 2 CPDN projects: one 4.03 and the other 4.04 (and message next to it is - downloading).

Is there going to be problems with uploading trickles and results for my almost done wu?

Hi NemanjaM,

Your existing job should be fine.

It sounds like your work preferences have triggered download of the next model for you to work on, but has failed every time it's tried. The log messages seem to indicate that hadsm3_4.04_windows_intelx86.exe and hadsm3se_4.04_windows_intelx86.zip have been successfully downloaded. But hadsm3data_4.04_windows_intelx86.zip is still giving problems and I'd suggest deleting it. Not sure about hadsm3um_4.04_windows_intelx86.zip. It started downloading at 2004-10-16 02:19:43, but there's no indication of success or failure so it might be best to delete that too. You could then force another download attempt by doing a project update.

Thanks for your post... It really helped. But there was a developing of that situation: At some point message at Work tab was changed from "downloading" to "ready to run". I checked file lengths and saw that hadsm3data_4.04 is exact same lenght as is hadsm3data_4.03 (4493630) and that other 4.04 files are just few kb longer than theirs 4.03 counterparts.
When hadsm3data was download it first download those 524288 and then it continued dling but in the end it was 4.493mb/0.524mb (dl/expected) - was very confuising while it lasted...

Now i'm not sure is that ok, but i'm interested can i still delete those files (to force download) and cause no harm to CPDN projects (mainly woried because of that "ready to run" note, and the fact that i have less than 24h of computing left on my current wu)?

Oh, i have 2500+ Athlon, Win XP sp1 and a dial up modem (if that matters).

Thanks once again - Nemanja

Hi, I'm not quite sure why you're getting that, the data file is the biggest though and I suppose the one that is most prone to corrpution in downloading. Are you on a modem? Anyway, the data files are the same, I just renamed them from 4.03 to 4.04 to be consistent with the BOINC naming convention.

You don't need to delete anything and force another download any more Namanja. Everything has sorted itself out :)

The "ready to run" status indicates that you've successfully downloaded everything for your next model, which should start as soon as the current one finishes. And yes, most download problems do seem to happen with modems.

Yes, i'm using modem... :( Anyway, i think that i'll wait until current wu is about few hours from over and then i'll make backup of the entire Boinc folder. After that i'll let CPDN to try and start crunching that new 4.04 wu... If there turns out to be any problems (corrupted files, not uploading trickles, etc.) i'll return previous Boinc and delete mentioned files (data, etc.) to try and force download of "healthy" version...

Btw, i just noticed something peculiar... In my work tab, although it says "Paused" next to CPDN (version 4.03) Boinc is still crunching CPDN wu, and Seti wu is not being processed (or it is being processed very slowly) and it says "Running" next to it... :( Anyone has the faintest idea what is going on?

Oh and, i'm using Boinc version 4.13 (problems started when i dled that version, before that everything was peachy...

Nemanja

Yeeeeeey... All problems are solved... I was very worried there for a min because of problems with Pausing/running wus and because CPDN didn't upload trickles... But when CPDN finished computing, Seti completed its hour and then turned back to CPDN... And everything sorted out, as Thyme said. I guess i was pretty lucky this time... ;)

Anyway, thanks for help guys... :)
