Sorry, couldnt figure out how to search the forums. I got a 2 cpu Xeon system with hyperthreading on a Windows OS. I like to get 4 instances on BOINC to run. When I attach the project, I can only get two work units to start. Is there a way to get 4 units to run at one time? Thanks! |

The answer you seek lies in your general preferences. "On multiprocessors, use at most" defaults to 2, if I remember correctly. Change it to 4 and your dual Xeon will have a wu per cpu. I would caution you that in the event of something happening to your system, you may then lose 4 wu's, instead of 2. Perhaps you should establish the stability of your platform first? Choose wisely. :) |

You also need about 600 - 700 MB / Workunit in allocated diskspace. That's also under the general preferences. 4 GB should do it... |
