hi, my work unit had about 20 hours left at about 85% completed, but when i came back a few hours later, the progress went back to 0% and the time to competion jumped to like 100,000 hours. and it appears to be working on the same unit. cpu time is still 643 hours, which included the hours that were used to get it to 85% before.
now its at 3% and the hours to completion have been going down, and is now at 20,000.
was another wu added to the curent one or something?
whats happening?
i did upgrade boinc but i cant remember if this reset happened right after the upgrade or later.
should i continue or reattach the project?
also, cp is using 600mb of space. is this normal?

Commiserations. Rotten when something like that happens. :(

Have you got any backups?

600mb of space is normal for a nearly completed run which suggest the files are still there (but probably being overwritten with hopefully identical information).

If you are concerned about your credits - (you won't get any while recalculating) I would go for a project reset. I would take a backup first in case someone can recommend some sort of a manual upload process that could make use of the work to 85% complete. (Shame to waste it if not necessary.)

If you particularly want to see the end of that run you could carry on recalculating it.

I'd just let the WU run. You'll get trickles for the work (again) and you'll get credit when it's finished. If you reset, somebody else will just have to get the WU and start from scratch again.
