I had to use my Windoze ME system restore cd yesterday because ME was doing it\'s usual crap and I wanted to start fresh. So I burned the contents of the c:\\programfiles\\BOINC folder to a cd and when I was done resintalling Windoze, I downloaded the boinc software and seti and climate software. Then since I don\'t know much about computers, I simply copied the contents of the burned cd back into c:\\ and that evidently didn\'t work. Now after messing around with it I have the following error message: climateprediction.net - 2004-11-06 15:46:55 - Unrecoverable error for result 3g69_100182547_0 (Couldn\'t start the app for this result: error -108) What do I do now? Thanks Ian Watson |

I'm not certain about the error message, but copying a directory with files in it from a CD usually results in those files being write protected, which would cause problems for CPDN. While BOINC is not running, using Windows Explorer, right click on the BOINC folder and choose Properties. Then there should be a check mark that you can uncheck to make it non-write protected. Good luck. |
