I have almost 600 hours in on this WU, with another 180 to go (about). I've heard of a lot of problems with upgrading to a newer version of CP mid-way thru a WU, so I'm going to wait until this run is complete before getting the next version. For the big question: Is there any way to stop CP from getting another unit after this one has finished, or delaying the "get" until I've had a chance to get ver 4.13 downloaded? Thanks in advance! |

The only way I've heard to do this is to go into your preferences and lower the disk limits in General Preferences, something like "Use no more than 100 MB". Then CPDN shouldn't download a new model. Of course if you are running other projects as well, this would affect those too. Personally, I upgraded to 4.13 on two PCs in the middle of runs without problems. I just suspended and Exited BOINC before upgrading. What version are you running? |

I wrote a little bit about this in another thread. Have a look here: Decommissioning a machine If anything is not clear, feel free to post your queries. |

I've recently upgraded three systems (XP Home, XP Pro & Windows 2000) to 4.13, mid-run with no problems. Simply suspend and exit BOINC, install the upgrade and restart. BOINC will report the software upgrade, run the benchmarks and restart. |

Get a new WU for SETI as well, so I'm back in business! |
