When I first installed the 4.02 client this morning, my older computer didn't have enough free space to run the model. I tidied up the drive and freed about a gig of space, and so told BOINC to update (retry now), but the scheduler responded that I still didn't have enough disk space. When I restarted BOINC and told it to update again, my downloads started and the model began to run. I'm guessing the problem is that free disk space is only checked on startup? ~ wogone.com ~ |

Most likely it was updating the preferences the first time. It could have been as you describe though.
John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |

have you gone through your prefs on the website, and then update? It seems like they don't really "count" until you actually edit/save, and then do an update, otherwise it's using BOINC client defaults which are too low to run CPDN. |

Actually no, I didn't update my preferecnes at all - I had set them while I was downloading the client (use no more than 100gb, leave 0.1gb free, use no more than 99% total). I don't think it could of been a matter of BOINC not downloading my updated preferences as they hadn't changed, just that it wasn't checking the free disk space each time? ~ wogone.com ~ |
