BOINC normally runns benchmarks when you update the core client. It shouldn't take more than a minute though.

I'm now not getting the the BOINC icon on my toolbar. When I click on the desktop icon it wants me to install BOINC.I'm 2/3 through a project.Should I delete everything and start again.Sorry if this is basic but to me the computer is new territory.
Thanks

Did you do an upgrade install of 4.13? Do you still have the project subdirectories for the CPDN project? Are there still a bunch of xml files in the boinc subdirectory? In your startup folder is the boinc icon still there? You have tried a reboot?

try checking with taskmanager to see if there are any "hadsm" processes or boinc processes.

Maybe try navigating to the boinc directory and double clicking the "boinc_gui.exe" file.

Let us know if any of this helps and maybe some more information and we'll see what we can do.
