Running BOINC with Seti and now also CP. After boot BOINC is loaded but is doing nothing. End the program and restart (after cleaning up ;-D ) and everything is OK. But I need to do this manually everytime. That's d..... irritating and inefficient. Any suggestions will be welcome. Thanks |

Not sure if I can help you; can you post your Windows and BOINC versions? Also, any info in your CP project's stderr.txt or stdout.txt? |

My BOINC is ver 4.13. I'm running SETI and CP on a 50%-50% basis. I've been running SETI for 3 years without any problems. WIN 2K(UK) SP4 fully updated. AMD 1700+ 256MB RAM until 2 weeks ago, now 786MB RAM. Installed on my boot drive 10GB partition with 2GB free space. Pagefile is about 1GB. It seems as if two WU's are present in the dir both 2j3u_100139269 and 2370_100118443. Only the latter one is visible in the BOINC app window and is the latest downloaded one. Both stderr_um.txt are empty (good) and the stdout_um.txt only tells "Starting hadsm3 model for ID# 2370_100118443... Changing to slots directory C:\Program Files\BOINC\slots\1". The only difference between the content of the files is the ID#. The date/time of the first one has not changed the last 3 days. If I shut down BOINC and start it again only the ID# 2370_... will be running normally. It has been running for about 9h needing some 500h in completion. |

Hi Klaus, You had 5 model failures on Sunday morning with the error message: CreateProcess() failed - The paging file is too small for this operation to complete. (0x5af) That's a Windows API error message (ERROR_COMMITMENT_LIMIT), and probably indicates that there was a memory related problem. Those 5 models (including 2j3u_100139269) are now history as far as you are concerned, but it sounds (and looks) like the new one is running OK. Yes, you are right. I had a lot of errors starting the CP-project. I'm aware of this but I think I'm back on track. My problem is however that when my PC boots the BOINC application is started, but it does not do any work! But if I exit the application (and the cleaning up proces is finished) I start the application again, then the BOINC application start doing work. So my problem is that I need to manual interact with BOINC to make it start. Any ideas? Best regards |
