Hi
I'am trying to start cpdn on my athlon64 3200+ runnung 64bit gentoo, last emerge sync today. This is what the client told me when trying to start cpdn:

Message from server: platform 'x86_64-pc-linux-gnu' not found

So, what does this mean exactly, and what can I do or has to be done, for running cpdn on an x86_64-pc-linux-gnu machine

thanks for your help

I imagine you built this boinc client yourself, which means that the "configure" process had created this version specificially for x86_64 machines, which isn't supported by any BOINC project as far as I know. You will want to get a "generic 32-bit Linux" BOINC client which will then download the appropriate CPDN executables.

thanks for your answer. I tried what you supposed, but as expected he told me that he his not able to execute the 32bit-binary. are there any plans to release a 64bit-version of cpdn?

all the AMD64 Linux distros I used with my AMD were able to run the 32-bit BOINC & CPDN just fine. I'm not officially with the project anymore, but I doubt a 64-bit version would be out for the public anytime soon.

Is it possible to send the 32-bit CPDN client to an 64-bit BOINC client?
This might be only a few database entries.
So i can compile my BOINC client in 64-bit and when the 64-bit CPDN client is ready it will exchanged with the next run. With seti I can compile a 64-bit seti client but i can not use it, because for CPDN i need a 32-bit BOINC.

You need to install 32 Bit compatibility libs and enable 32 bit support in your kernel, thats all.
