I recentely had a mainboard meltdown that took my drive along for the ride. I have no backup of the CPDN WU. After checking on the reported progress of that WU (337629) I realized that I am currently the only one assigned to it. It seems a waste to have it just spinning in the ether with no one working on it.

Since the files cannot be recovered from my HD, my question: Is there currently any way for me to report that WU as unrecoverable?

No need, lost Wu's are automatically tracked and reassigned.

Not really, afaik. a resend happens only when a model has _reported_ an error but not when it silently disappears.

the BOINC "report deadline" will allow CPDN to recreate workunits that were made & sent but never had a result returned.

Would that be the "trickle" or for the entire WU? If it's for the entire WU...the deadline date was sometime this coming September.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. With SETI they want to make sure that all the units are crunched and it is not necessarily easy to ensure there is alway enough data recorded in order to create work units. With CP it is not so important. 3^20*10 is far too many units to be done so there is a monti carlo sampling approach. TBH we haven't got as many possibilites as 3^20*10 yet, but work units can be generated at will.
