Today I started Boinc and I saw that the Client had started at zero again! What has happend?

It happened once to me back in August with an earlier version of BOINC/CPDN client software. I've seen a few other post about this problem. Best advice I can give you is upgrade to BOINC 4.13 if you already haven't, and always Suspend and Exit BOINC from the menu to shut the application down as cleanly as possible. It should be able to recover from an unclean shutdown, but it doesn't sometimes.

Thanks for the answer! I am working with BOINC 4.13 already. So it cames from an unclean shutdown. :-( Ok, I will calculate the unit again and will be careful with the shutdowns.

Welcome to the forum.

The version you were/are running is 4.19. The latest, available from here is 4.25

Your errors indicated: Exit status -1073741819 (0xc0000005)

I haven't got to figure out what this is about. It could be a Windows STOP message. Have you got the lastest video card driver?

What graphics card do you have? ('you' meaning anyone who has had this error message)

My computer is only 11 months old and I have all the latest updates installed that are available
I was running Bionic 4.13 and have downloaded the latest Bionic that is available on the web site 4.19
I still don't understand why it just stopped and returned a client error message on 3 separate work modules at different stages of the work The first one got to over 60% to completion the other two not as far
I'm totally confused

These just indicate the models that have tried to run and their status. The actual error that the CPDN model generated on failure would be contained in one of the files uploaded.

I realize that your computer is prtty new but have you ensured it's stability by running programs such as Prime95 torture test for a few hours? the CPDN model stress computers more than other distributed computing projects and due to the interdepenancy of calculations it can find problems quite easily.

Can you post your CPU, memory, and hard drive information? Have you noticed if you are doing anything in particular when the model crashes? were you running the visualizations or some other demanding piece of software when the model crashed?

Hopefully we can all help you get back up and running again.

>Hi Dave
thanks for the reply
To answer your question I have a Compaq Presario GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz with 1 gig memory and 144gig HD with 127 gig free so so storage or memory problems.
As to what I was doing for the first 2 error messges I'm afraid I don't know. I don't recall any events The last time I was surfing the web nothing actually happend that I know of - no crash or computer freeze. I also run seti@home sharing the processor time that's running ok
It's a puzzle I don't know the answer
As far as I see all is well

hi again Dave
I just had another crash
it's amazing
I was writing an email ans got a window pop up saying thet Hadsm3 had an unrecoverable error and woudl have to close
I clicked ok as it was the only optiion and continued work I was careful to shut Bionic down before I shut the computer down and when I booted up this mornign it showed that I was working on a new unit. The last one wasn't even half way through :-(
check the stats and yes you guessed it client error
any ideas? or any ideas on where I could go for help
seemes useless to continue if every unit goes like this
I'm running version 4.19
