Continuing from a phpB forum, there goes one that we should look during these days. Colin is about to have his birdthday on January 27th (if my memory and uncle Google is accurate) so this is the date of the Day D. Exctracted from Google archiv, the bets are as follows: ace_dent 27034 marj999 27327 Mikey 30003 UK_Nick 100000 Colin 28521 John McLeod VII 26500 Thyme Lawn 31138 Pete B 33333 grahamd 18500 mikeatkinson 35211 canwick 16246 honza 23456 obelix 26543 crandles 36912 Active Hosts (Trickled Within Last Two Weeks) http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/projstat.html The paper is to be published sometimes next week, right? Is there an exact date; this might bring another spike in active machine stats. |

Well rememebered Honza, I believe I set the time of D minute to be noon, and if not it is now. So far I'm looking a bit over, but not as much as UK_Nick, and Honza appears to have been able to read the future! Einstein@Home are planning to send out account IDs to another 10,000 users this week. Don't know what effect that might have.......:( Marj _________________________________ |

Hi Marj, probably none to Active Trickling machines. But there might be a large spike starting tomorrow because of CPDN Press release and article in Nature that is taking... we will see tomorrow at noon. > Einstein@Home are planning to send out account IDs to another 10,000 users > this week. There was also an item about CPDN on BBC News at 6:00pm today ( but without actually mentioning it by name) The BBC News website carries the same article in more detail, citing the work that ClimatePrediction.net is doing. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4210629.stm for details. This hopefully might generate a big jump in new participants. Alan |

it made it in my Yahoo News (currently based in southern Cal) -- it's funny to read the responses from the usual cast of right-wing idiots/deniers. Yahoo News (AFP) |

High noon has passed here in grey England and the final count of actively trickling machines stands at....... 22905 which makes Honza the winner with his pretty accurate 23456. Well congratulations and you can claim the prize of a beer the next time I see you. Colin |

Haha. Well done Honza. Though I'm not sure whether to say congratulations or that it's a pity is wasn't Nick ;-) Marj _________________________________ |

Yeah, thanks. Noon must have passed in UK, right. Is the server stats way behind or is Oxford time somehow different from Greenwich? As of now, 23.008 is very close to 23.456. I can tell i would be more happy if Nick's estimation have been closer. But number of Users is growing since yesterday and hopefully trickling machine number will grow later as well. > Haha. Congratulations Honza Stats update 11:27 23035 I think it was the stats update closest to midday, so a stats update prior to 12:33 could theoretically change things but exceedingly unlikely. Visit BOINC WIKI for help And join BOINC Synergy for all the news in one place. |

8409 new users in the last 3 days 50 minutes. How many of those will manage to trickle in the next few days? Will we reach 30,000 active hosts? Visit BOINC WIKI for help And join BOINC Synergy for all the news in one place. |
