Does anyone know why boinc would suddenly slowdown?
It has been running fine, but has suddenly slowed down by a 5th, ie the CPU time & the time to completion are both 1/5th of real time. this has coincided with my CPU usage dropping to around 20%.
i run a desktop, so temperature isn't a problem, hard disk is defragged regularly. this seems to also have affected my other programs: they start fine, but after a couple of minutes they follow boinc an slow down.

Have you installed 'ThreadMaster'? I had the same trouble as you but after complete deletion of ThreadMaster everything was at normal speed. Remember to check taskmaster if you have it [windows xp.
