when i'm using a self-compiled boinc client (for amd) i have to create an app_info.xml to tell the project which client to use (because of 'unknown' platform), right?

if the project releases a new project client, will this be downloaded automatically? (will the project know that i want a i686-pc-linux if not mentioned anywhere?)
and if so, do i have to change the app_info.xml file to keep on working?

is there a possibility to be informed of a new project client?
