Ho, ho, ho. (Careful, Chris, lest Myles take-out a contract... [or is that US-think?])

Unable to sleep in the wee hours last night, here in the Pacific Northwest of the US, I heard an interview with Myles on BBC World Service. Good stuff -- kept me from even trying to sleep for awhile. Scary numbers, though -- doubling the possible extremity of the warming.

(One suspects that human life would then exist in narrow bands hither and yon and, for those other species surviving, probably also on sparse slivers of possibility. Not a world I want to bequeath to my grand-kids [and likely in a year or three, great-grand-kid].)

A contract ??? You are forgetting the 'spitting image effect'. While people who have had a spitting image pupet made of them probably hate the satire, many of them have mixed feeling about it because it shows that they have 'made it'. Of couse to celebrities 'making it' is much more important than to scientist.

I know its a bit of a backhanded complement. How do I emphasise the completment part of it?

Hmm. Maybe I should stop digging. Maybe if there is safety in numbers, I should ask if anyone wants to put another name to one the scientists pictured.

Its only a bit of fun, honest.
