I keep getting the following message when attempting to dld a work unit: climateprediction.net - 2005-01-27 17:49:12 - Message from server: No work available (there was work but you don't have enough disk space allocated) I have plenty of free disk space, and I don't see anything in my preferences that directly affects allocation (unless it's poorly labeled) |

Each WU requires about 700MB. The usual problem is that Use no more than x% of total space has been set too low. The other two options that can limit the space BOINC will use are Use no more than X GB Leave at least X GB but these are fairly self explanatory. If this does not help you solve it, please post what values you have for these three options, the size of your disk partition where BOINC is installed and the amount of free disk space on that partition. > Each WU requires about 700MB. > This is NOT the case, my current model is chewing in execess of 850Mb at times, usually around the 800Mb mark is probably more realistic. <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=444&trans=off"> |

Files from previous runs are archived in the BOINC projects folder. So the folder will grow by about 330 MB for each completed run if there is space (though BOINC will automatically delete if it needs the space). It is a good idea to move completed runs to another folder to facilitate backup and to give you control over the way your disk space is being used. Where a run failed, certainly in the first two stages, there is not much point in retaining the data, though. |

> and where can i change all these settings? > > there are 2,35GB off free disk space and i cant get an wu... > Go to Your Account (on menu on the left) and edit general preferences. There are 3 disk space preferences that all need to be consistent with allowing sufficient space. |
