I currently have a model that is circa 75% complete. Can I upgrade the core client on this machine from v4.13 -> v4.19 without losing this model, or do I wait until it's completed? |

I've done upgrades to 4.19 on two PCs without incident. However, both of them weren't too far into their models. I'm waiting on my P4 which has two models in the third phase, just in case. When I upgraded, I suspended and exited boinc, backed up the boinc directory, disabled network access on my network adaptor, then ran the 4.19 install. After the model resumed and computed nicely for awhile, I re-enabled my network adaptor. |

Thanks geophi, I think I'll wait, last time I upgraded v4.09 -> v4.13 I lost the model. What with the first one erroring at coming up to phase three and the second one lost half way through phase one due to the v4.09 -> v4.13 upgrade, despite the credit I have, I have still to complete a model for CPDN!! ;-) What with this one being quarter of the way through phase three, I'm not going to chance it as you can probably understand. |
