After installing the core client 4.02 over version 3.20 I expected it to automatically run the benchmarks, and it did not. |

I only played with BOINC 3.nn and SETI to familiarise myself ready for CPDN. I uninstalled BOINC 3.nn and then installed 4.02 and the automated benchmark ran OK and automatically for me, as per 3.nn, for example: 2004-08-05 17:19:25 - Running CPU benchmarks 2004-08-05 17:19:26 - Suspending computation and network activity - running CPU benchmarks http://climateprediction.net/ - 2004-08-05 17:19:53 - Project prefs: using your defaults 2004-08-05 17:20:27 - Benchmark results: 2004-08-05 17:20:27 - Number of CPUs: 1 2004-08-05 17:20:27 - 1629 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU 2004-08-05 17:20:27 - 3517 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU Maybe the problem is limited to upgrades as opposed to new installs? |

Now that you mention it, Keith, I don't recall seeing it in my Linux upgrade, either. I have another box to do, so will keep an eye open for it. Cheers. ________________________________________________ Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral. -- Paulo Freire (1921-1997), educator, author. |

The weird part is that I clicked on "Website" and it ran the benchmarks a few hours after starting boinc. |

There seems to be a bug in BOINC that will not run benchmarks on major version changes. It did run them for me going from CCv4.01 to CCv4.03. |

yeah I'm afraid I botched the Win client version file to read 4.03, although "officially" it's 4.02 (as the Mac & Linux clients). Hopefully when there's "official Berkeley builds" we'll just use them. |
