I had 250 hrs of computation done when I received repeated messages about a new release. I may have made a mistake downloading the newer one. Now the computation is stopped probarbly because I need to fill in some info (perhaps Account or URL) which I do not have and system did not provide me. Probarbly feebleminded but I expected an update to take care of it all... Unless I get an answer (somehow fixing this) I will forget about the 250 hrs and delete everything. |

Hello and welcome, First a disclaimer: I had no problems with updating from 4.13 > 4.18 > 4.19 on my XP-machines, running CPDN, S@H and P@H. And i'm no puter-wizzard;-) But to get a useful answer from some of the wizzards you have to provide a little bit more information about the problem. OS?, CPU? CC-versions? Error-messages? Otherwise, all I could say would be this: Everythings fine here, so you're the reason. But that's not what I think is the proper (and useful) answer;-) Grüße vom Sänger |

The process for updating BOINC is, Suspend and Exit the BOINC GUI Run the install on the new BOINC setup Have it overwrite installation in the BOINC directory It will then startup where it left off If you didn't Exit the GUI before you upgraded, or if you uninstalled the previous version before trying to install this one, problems can occur. If you uninstalled the previous version, it may ask you for information to attach to the project. This information should have come in an e-mail when you started BOINC. |
