Hi there, I'm new to CP. Until now I've only been participating by SETI.
I'm wondering if the system of validation is the same here and there. By SETI you process a WU and then it's compared with 2 more users, and the middle is taken as granted credit. Is the same here, or do you get the amount of credit that you claime?

The system is different.
The WUs are much bigger, and they 'trickle' intermediate results every now and than. To be precise, every (CPU-time per WU) divided by 72, because they trickle 72 times. On my machine here (the AMD) thats about 0,9 times a day (I run S@H and PP@H as well)

The amount of credit for each trickle is always the same (94,5).
There seems to be some kind os validation, because it sometimes lasts a few minutes from uploading to granting, but just a few minutes.

There may me a hour before credit is granted but you always get the credit claimed. The same WU can generate different results due to different maths libraries being used and this is compounded by the butterfly effect. The experiment was designed to cope with this butterfly effect/chaos in the weather.

it takes about 14h CPU-time per trickle.
That was as long as I just crunched S@H and CPDN nearly once a day, now it's a wee bit less.
But I changed the preferences a bit to CPDN, so I'll still be close;-)

Perhaps I should wait until some of the wiser wizzards say something, but AFAIK crunching time is depenidng on CPU-type and RAM.
You've got a faster CPU but less RAM.
I need about 14h for 1,39%, so I guess, you're fine, and RAM is important;-)

Well, it's not a desktop, it's a laptop, wich means I have an AMD mobile. That's also the main reason for less ram.My desktop is an AMD XP2600+ with 512 MB RAM.

I can't say if that's typical for your hardware, but you've now sent back your first trickle. Calculating from your average timesteps per second it took 25h 43m of CPU time.
