if i dual boot between windows and linux is there any way of getting each boinc client to work on the same model, so i'm not doing one model and then the other? |

Oh well, thanks anyway! I've just had a brainwave though. I'll try it and then post the result in this thread just in case anyone else has the same question. I quite often "wine" programs that are already installed on my windows disk when there aren't linux equivalents available, so I figure I might just be able to wine the windows binary from where it's installed on my windows partition. It's got the best chance of working if I tell wine that my windows 'program files directory' is my wine 'program files' directory as well, so the paths are essentially the same. Suppose it's worth a try, anyway. If anyone tries this, needless to say, backup your climate model datafiles so you don't screw up your experiment! |
