My machine is a DELL Pentium 4 1.8Ghz 512K ram and 80 Gb HD, running Win XP Pro

I downloaded boinc_4.13_windows_intelx86.exe and installed it. There was some error message but the program seems to have installed, the service icon shows on the tray and I set it up as the screen saver (preview shows the B icon slowly drifting and bouncing around plus the banner "no applications running" scrolling horizontally).

The problem is, nothing else happens. Opening the Boinc control panel I see there are no projects, no transfers and nothing else but messages that the service started and there are no preferences set so default is used.

I can see no way to download anything from the web and the help menu gives no help at all.
