Yes. It is recomended for this project that you back up the BOINC directory first though.

Hello David,

I would not subscribe to John's suggestion without any caveat.

An update from 4.1x to 4.19 is possible without a problem.
Suspend and exit Boinc, save the directory (just for sure), install the new one and start again.
Everything should be fine. (At least it was with me)

<b><i>BUT...</b></i>
If you are of the more adventurous type, and want to try the 'developers version' (4.6x), you have to uninstall boinc first.
<b><i>Beware!</b></i>
It's Beta testing, possible buggy, not for sissies like me ;-)

Last time I did this (4.09 -&gt; 4.13) CPDN coughed and I lost a model in phase two. I'm not going to do this one until my current model finishes in approx 5 days from now. Wait until your model has finished!

I'm not that long with Boinc, but the change from 4.13 -&gt; 4.18 -&gt; 4.19 didn't do anything bad :-)
Neither to CPDN, nor Seti, nor Predictor.
