I've been running the BOINC CP client for the last week or so and I don't think it's actually getting any work done. I checked my stats in my control panel and it says 0 credits. When I check the results page, it says "client error". I'm not seeing anything in the terminal that looks like an error but I'm not too smart either so that could be the problem. I hope someone can help me figure out how to get this working. G4 Dual 1.42 OSX 10.3.7 thanks |

I can't provide a complete solution because I've no experience of Macs, but you're results page shows you've had 56 failed reults. Most of them don't give much information but I've found a couple where the error message indicates that you might have a missing library: dyld: hadsm3um_4.03_powerpc-apple-darwin can't open library: /opt/ibmcmp/lib/libxlsmp.A.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2) "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

Thanks TymeLawn. I'm wondering if I installed everything in the right directories. I downloaded and installed the new BOIC client but I'm still getting client errors. Does anyone know if the path "/opt/ibmcmp/lib/libxlsmp.A.dylib" is a relitive path from my user folder, my startup drive, or the application folder. I searched for a folder called "opt" but there's none on my computer. There is however a "libxlsmp.A.dylib" contained in /Users/yogert909/projects/www.climateprediction.net/hadsm3se_4.03_powerpc-apple-darwin/libxlsmp.A.dylib Thanks for any advice |

When you launch boinc, do you see any progress in the Terminal window ? something like 2mi4_100143715 - PH 2 TS 125415 - 03/03/1833 19:30 - H:M:S=0856:04:03 AVG= 8.01 DLT= 4.84 2mi4_100143715 - PH 2 TS 125416 - 03/03/1833 20:00 - H:M:S=0856:04:09 AVG= 8.01 DLT= 5.91 2mi4_100143715 - PH 2 TS 125417 - 03/03/1833 20:30 - H:M:S=0856:04:13 AVG= 8.01 DLT= 4.53 ? - matthieu - |

I have the same error on a PowerMac G5. I have 2 projects added to Boinc: Seti, which runs quite well, and CP, which causes only errors. But I have no idea, what the problem could be. :-( -gernot- |

The menubar version can't accept CP.net data because it's "unsigned" (whatever that means). I took it off the menubar, and now just run it through Terminal. I don't know why, just what happens. Ari |

I installed BOINC Menubar first and it was working fine. I later discovered the new GUI version and installed it and removed the Menubar version. I now get these errors.... dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/ibmcmp/lib/libxlsmp.A.dylib Referenced from: /Library/Application Support/BOINC Data/projects/climateprediction.net/2v3g_300154961/../hadsm3um_4.12_powerpc-apple-darwin Reason: image not found libxlsmp.A.dylib is in the .../projedts/climateprediction.net/ folder where I believe it should be and the permissions look fine. |
