Hello, I am not sure how I did it, but I ended up with two Cross Project IDs (CPI). One under Seti and one under BOINC. Should they not be the same? Both have the same e-mail address, but the preferences do not seem to propagate from Seti to CPDN or Vice versa, so I assume that they are not linked... How do I migrate my Seti from one to the other CPI? Is that possible or do I have to detach and then attach with the other CPI? Thanks! Friedrich I love CPDN! -- |

Assuming that you have at least one computer attached to all the projects the CPID will eventually sync up. One note: capitalization matters, all email addresses should be in lowercase. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

Thanks for your answer. Currently I have no two BOINC projects on the same computer. I have two running CPDN and one running Seti. Based on what you are saying I understand that the two CPID will never synchronize because of this separation? Friedrich I love CPDN! -- |

My advice for your situation is to set Seti to a low resource share and attach it to one of the CPDN computers. That will allow the CPID to sync up without taking too much away from your CPDN crunching. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

I have exactly the same issue. How long would it take for synch to take place? Resourcewise CPCN is on 100, SETI on 10, EINSTEIN on 15. THANKS. <a href="http://petrus.homeftp.org/scripting/boincwapstats/counter.php?project=climate&id=51739"><img src="http://petrus.homeftp.org/scripting/boincwapstats/counter.php?project=climate&id=51739"></a> |

I think the preferences are the same, which probably means that the accounts are linked now. I believe that was not the case yesterday, so it took 2 days, maybe because two of the computers are not running continously. I just changed one setting, so I will see if that propagates in the next days... Friedrich I love CPDN! -- |

strange, I have two different cpid too. When I change general settings in one project, changes are true for the other project too, so they must be linked somehow, nevertheless it still shows me 2 different cross project id numbers. Have I misunderstood anything? Christian <img src="http://www.boincsynergy.com/images/stats/comb-453.jpg"> |

It will sync up over time assuming there is a path from project to computer to project. One thing to keep in mind is that the CPID on the web sites may be different. The web pages were changed from displaying the internal CPID to displaying the one sent with the xml stats dump. Look for the tag line "used in exported accounting data". Ones with that line are the newer version. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

If you have 4 computers, 1 with Einstein, 1 with SETI, 1 with LHC, and 1 with CPDN, and you want to sync the CPIDs, you need to put a common project on each. E.G. put SETI on all four. Except that CPDN won't sync, as it's using a different format. Les |

CPDN and FAH (and one more smaller BOINC project) always show a different CPID on home.php than the other projects. CPDN shows the one that's in the scheduler communications, the other projects show the one that is exported to the status XML. Someone told me that one of the two is hashed with the email, the other is not. So (from home.php) CPDN / FAH and the projects S@H / E@H / Pirates will never sync although the CPIDs might be equivalent. So they might be technically synced although it doesn't look as if they were. ___________ p.s.: from the checkin_notes : David 7 Jan 2005 - User web: show "external" version of cross-project ID (i.e. hashed with email_addr) in the My Account page. It will now match what's in the XML dump files |

Assuming that you also noted the part about having an identical email address for each project, you've done all that can be done. So, as Flip Wilson used to say in Laugh-In, 'What you see is what you get!' Les |

CPID what a pain and cause for emense confusion... Well I've found that on the individual home pages I have as follows: SETI - ddbcbc466868e66651e2e8b90af0b674 Einstein - 78952eab6d66aa8f6b9b55239560b385 CP - d8923ecc93fbe196714012ec2b5823fd However according to my client state file(which I did edit according to option two from here http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2469) the CPID is the same as CP's (d8923ecc93fbe196714012ec2b5823fd) for all projects accross all pc's. Now this really tickles me... On the stats pages, I search for my user name and get 2 results (from New Zealand): One using d8923ecc93fbe196714012ec2b5823fd, showing only my CP stats; One using 78952eab6d66aa8f6b9b55239560b385 and showing SETI and Einstein. If anyone could have a looksy and let me know whats going on would be muchly appriceiated. Gavin |

Gavin, I've seen from the world stats, that you've solved your problem meanwhile (with the SETI CPID). I've already tried to sync up my CPDN and E@H credits with the method described in CPDN-thread 2469 (you mentioned above), but haven't succeeded. Do I just have to wait a bit longer? Or do I have to create a SETI account just for sync-up (I don't have one now). Update: It seems that my accounts have merged somehow, although I haven't done anything for that in the last days. Maybe, they (=CPDN or BOINC) might have fixed the CPID-problem meanwhile. @Archon : > what about all the stats sites that are supposed to give you total credit for > all projects The two different CPIDs are only shown on your home.php, those will never sync between CPDN and SETI. The database export contains the same "type" of CPID for all projects so those will sync if there's a path between all projects. |
