I'm running Boinc version 4.19 on my Windows XP pc, and have repeatedly received these messages:

"Result exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
"If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project."

I've tried resetting the project, but still receive the messages.

What might the problem be?

One thing that occurs to me is that I run a cleanup program weekly: could it be emptying files/directories? that Boinc is using?

I think it results from the interruption of a file access operation. Do you suspend BOINC when doing your weekly housekeeping?

It is not serious in itself - some people learn just to igonre it. But on the other hand, some disk access problems can be fatal in CPDN.

Thanks for the response! I generally quit all programs before running the disk cleaner, but could well have missed BOINC. I'll keep an eye on this and see if things improve. Or else learn to ignore the message....
