Hi, I have just installed BOINC and CP on my home and work machines. How do I tell the client to use the Home/Work preferences set instead of the default preferences? Thanks, Schobi |

Because of a problem in the BOINC software the only way you can change your location with version 4.19 or less is by manually editing the client_state.xml file. You need to add the line <host_venue>home</host_venue> before the last line in the file. Change 'home' to 'work' or 'school' depending on the location you want to use. To revert back to global settings you have to delete the line. "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

I'l have to add, however, that it seems one needs to close BOINC before making this change. I first tried it while BOINC was running and restarted it afterwards, but it seems to overwrite any changes at program end. Schobi |
