I have several different Distributed Computing screensavers that I run. Including SETI@Home and United Devices. I also have a program that randomizes which screensaver is run when the screensaver starts. What I want to do is only have BOINC run when it is the screensaver, not when other distributed computing projects are running. I have tried to setting BOINC to run after the screensaver starts, but that doesn't seem to work. Any other ideas? |

Hi andrew, welcome to the forum With CPDN, it is recommended that NO screen savers are used, especially with slower computers. A model on my p4 3.2G takes about 3 weeks, so slower computers need all the cpu time they can get. The cp screensaver, which displays the data being crunched, takes up time better used in computing. You can still see the image by going to the Work tab, and right-clicking a model. And it will be dynamic. And, because BOINC gets it's image from the running process, I don't think you can do it the way you want. But there is a new version of BOINC due out Real Soon Now. It may be different. Les |
