When I upgraded to 4.19, my computer (ID 67,582) was given another computer ID (111,861). Is there any way of getting it back to my old one? I've tried merging, but that doesn't work. I was one of the first on BOINC CP, and so originally had a low computer ID, but w/new BOINC upgrades, etc., I keep getting new ID's. WHEN IS THIS BUG GOING TO BE FIXED? Also is there any way to hide unactive machines? Thx |

Upgrading the client does not normally cause a new host ID# to be issued. I still have host #173 and #4200 that have survived some 10 core client upgrades. I do not know why it is happening to you on a regular basis. CC4.16 and later describe the CPU slightly differently so hosts generated by that and later versions will not merge with hosts created by earlier versions. After all work has been removed from the host record then you can delet the hosts. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |
