On some of my machines, I watched, that BOINC and CPDN are not restarting correct. I\'m starting BOINC as a service on WIN2000 / XP PROF When a machine is rebooted, sometimes I see the cc running, but no CPDN (or other boinc-) application. The cc says running, switching to \"run always\" or \"run based on pref\" makes no difference. In TASK-MANAGER, I can see, that no hdsm...application is loaded. First, I thaught, this could have something to do with machine power, because I watched it on older boxes, that have not so much crunching power. But today I watched it on an actual powerful machine (P4, 2,66 GHz, 1 GB memory) What can I do to help you, find out, what\'s going on when this happens ? I\'m running BOINC more than 1 year now, never saw this with older clients. So, it must be related to cc 4.x or CPDN-application Oh, if the problem occurs and I exit and restart boinc cc, the problem is gone and crunches fine on ... |

hi, is this the "pre-emptive task switching?" I noticed that with David A yesterday, it seems if your prefs have "Leave project applications in memory while activities are suspended?" set to "No", it never restarts. It seems to work if you leave them suspended in (virtual) memory. |
