That's about right. Given that you are modelling a global 3D atmosphere for 45 years, that's not such a long time. The fastest computers for finishing a WU in CPDN are very high end P4s running Linux. They can do a 45 year climate run (1 WU) in about 12-13 days running continuously. Of course you get stat credits for completed trickles (1/72 of a WU) and do not have to wait for the credits for other computers to validate the results. |
