hadsm3 4.04 crashed in BOINC.
Now it does not seem to want to continue.
Should I reset it and lose over 22 hours of computing or is there something wrong with the file?

Is there anything in your stderr.txt file, or indication in stdout.txt of the BOINC folder of why it might have failed?

Just the usuall Win error report. Nothing in either files about it crashing, but now BOINC in not doing any computing, just says it's running this project, but no time has elapsed, and neither other projects have been restarted.

I may be being thick here but what 'Just the usuall Win error report'?

If it is definately not running then I would probably reset the project. I don't want to waste the 22 hours but it is better than wasting too much extra time while unable to crunch.

Just want to check that it isn't actually crunching but with a display glitch. So, have you exited BOINC (wait 30 seconds or so) and restarted BOINC. Also worth checking the visualisation to see if that is stopped.

Edit sorry about the triple post - don't know how I did that.

Also try restarting the computer, that is the usual answer to the usual win error report.

When win wants to upload an error report (usually the contents of the memory allocations of the suspect program) to the 'fabulous' MS team of programers (now that is saying a lot about them) so they can try to fix the many problems with their programs.

True, but I have a measly 1.2Ghz (one) processor.

Did that.

Actually rebooted, with 5ish minutes of dead time in between, in answer to the kind post by JKeck, as is the normal proc. with running win crappy OSses.
Not that any of these things worked. BUT!! I decided to leave the computer running all night, and even with another error report waiting to be uploaded, BOINC seems to have fixed itself! Sweet! I just wish the MS moronic team had programers like the guys in the BOINC team. The computer world would be a crashless place.
Again, thank you all for your posts in my time of (dumb) panic, but there seems to be a degree of self correction built into BOINC.
