I just installed BOINC through the SETI site. Aparently they're still in beta so I also joined climate. I hate having a computer not doing work. After I installed and joined, I received this log entry... 2005-03-04 10:38:57 [---] Starting BOINC client version 4.19 for windows_intelx86 2005-03-04 10:38:57 [climateprediction.net] Project prefs: no separate prefs for work; using your defaults 2005-03-04 10:38:57 [climateprediction.net] Host ID is 123209 2005-03-04 10:38:57 [---] No general preferences found - using BOINC defaults 2005-03-04 10:46:34 [---] Running CPU benchmarks 2005-03-04 10:46:34 [---] Suspending computation and network activity - running CPU benchmarks 2005-03-04 10:47:36 [---] Benchmark results: 2005-03-04 10:47:36 [---] Number of CPUs: 2 2005-03-04 10:47:36 [---] 1054 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU 2005-03-04 10:47:36 [---] 1555 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU 2005-03-04 10:47:36 [---] Finished CPU benchmarks 2005-03-04 10:47:37 [---] Resuming computation and network activity Am I doing something wrong? It looks like you're running just fine Frank. Your system has downloaded 2 workunits and should be working on them right now. Assuming you're running the BOINC GUI program, if you go to the work tab you should see entries for result names 0cl9_000041415_0 and 0cj6_000041339_0, with the CPU time counting up on both. If you run task manager you should be running at 100% CPU usage. "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |
